Mary Edith Earnheart's Obituary
Edith Earnheart, 96, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, died Friday, July 10, 2015, in Wylie, TX after a long period of deteriorating health. Visitation will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Following funeral service will be a reception at Restland Funeral Home (Main Building). Edith was born March 5,1919 in Sapulpa, OK. to George and Addie Jackson. The third eldest of six children, the family moved to Kilgore in the early 1930’s in the midst of the East Texas oil boom. She was a star basketball player of Sabine High School where she graduated in 1938. She met and married James Walter Phillips on August 21, 1940. They moved to Dallas where James, a member of the Army Air Force, was stationed. After his death in 1965, she worked at Texas Instruments as a quality control inspector for 20 years. She then met and married Louie Walter Earnheart in August 30, 1975. She was a life long member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas. She also was one of the Charter members of Wewannago Camping Club, as well as the National Campers and Hikers Association, and FCRV. She loved to travel with the LLL club at Lakeside Baptist Church. Other activities she enjoyed were Square Dancing, Sewing, crafting. She continued to love to play dominoes, cards and bingo. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Walter Phillips (1965), her son James Walter Phillips, Jr.(1999), and her husband, Louie Earnheart (2000). She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Mark Davie of Sachse, Texas, her daughter-in-law, Anita Phillips of Garland, Texas, her step-daughter, Susan Scholz of Naples, Florida. Grandson, Michael Phillips, and wife, LaDonna of Forney, TX, granddaughter, Nicole and husband, Evan Gooch, and their daughters, Audrey, Harper and Gable of Conroe, TX. Sister, Naomi Johnson of Conroe, and Brother, W.C. Jackson of Garland, TX. These along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends mourn her loss. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at Restland Road.
