Mary T. Gorman's Obituary
Gorman, Mary Taggart, Born October 5, 1910 in Dallas, Texas to parents James E. and Effie Nash Taggart. Our beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother died on July 14, 2008 after a several-month long illness. Preceded in death by husband, Julian W. Gorman and sister, Eleanor T. Oberlin. Mary was a life long resident of Dallas and a member of The First United Methodist Church of Dallas, since 1919. She was a graduate of Bryan High School, Dallas and attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She participated in many activities including church, PTA, several clubs, sorority, and AARP. In her later life she enjoyed traveling the U.S, Europe, and Hawaii with her many friends. Survived by brother, James N. Taggart and wife Barbara of Marquette, MI; sons, Julian (Jay) W. Gorman Jr. of Dallas, TX and John T. Gorman and wife, Gloria of Henderson, NV; daughter, Glenda G. Ilgenfritz and husband, Hugh of Shreveport, LA; nephew, Robert Taggart and wife Marcia of Marquette, MI; granddaughters, Kimberley Wilson of Mandeville, LA and Reagan Ilgenfritz of Olympia, WA; grandson, Taggart Gorman and wife Jill of Alameda, CA; great grandaughters, Wesley and Morgan Wilson of Mandeville, LA; and great grandson, Kyle Gorman of Alameda, CA. Many thanks to Drs. Khetan and Bray, Baylor University Medical Center, Gaston Ave., and the caring staff on the 4th floor of Jonsson Hospital, 2nd floor of Baylor Specialty Hospital, 8th floor of Roberts Hospital, and 2nd floor of The Forum at Park Lane. Graveside services will be held at 10AM Friday July 18, 2008 at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary’s honor to her favorite charity, The Salvation Army.
