Mary Jo Irwin Cannon's Obituary
Mary Jo Irwin Cannon was born on November 6, 1922 to Fred and Mate Irwin in Marion, Illinois and passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 in Garland, Texas. After graduating from Marion Township High School, she attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, pursuing a teaching certificate.While visiting her sister and brother-in-law in Little Rock, Arkansas, Mary Jo met Charles L. Cannon, Jr. whom she would marry on August 7, 1945. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary and served as local post and district President.She is preceded in death by her husband, infant daughter, Donna Jo; parents, and sister, Bea. Mary Jo is survived by her daughter, Janis and son-in-law Steve Brezik; grandchildren, James and Nikki Brezik, Cheryl and Chuck Dumas, Aaron and Bethany Brezik; and twelve great grandchildren.In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html?sc_icid=wtg-mm-btn-donate-now
