Mary Ann Lawhorn's Obituary
Mary Ann was born on February, 27, 1931 in Bell County, Texas and passed away on February 22, 2018 in Abilene, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude H. and Ida C. Martin, a brother, Ned Alton Martin and by her husband, Lindley Elwyn Lawhorn.She s survived by her daughter, Rebecca Lawhorn Huff, and husband Kent, of Abilene, Texas; grandsons, Brady Donovan Huff and Branton Walker Huff; sister, Dena Tinkle, and husband Nathan, of Abilene, Texas; nephew, Nathan Martin Tinkle, wife Wendy and children, of Albany, Texas; nieces, Mary Kathryn Harris, husband Mark and children of Midland, Texas, and Diana Lynn Marshall, husband Joe and children, of Rockwall, Texas, Judy Patterson Mason ; Edalee Lawhorn Patterson and many cousins and Christian friends.Mary Ann and Lindley were married for 59 years, and were long time members of Skillman Church of Christ, in Dallas, Texas. They traveled the world and she enjoyed shopping everywhere she went. Mary Ann loved to cook and was a wonderful cook and baker. She was a master at wrapping gifts and had a room built in their house just for wrapping gifts. She was a philanthropist and was instrumental in providing scholarships to students all over the country for Christian education. Mary Ann was a devoted Christian wife, mother and grandmother. Her faith sustained her to the end. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eastern European Missions. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, at Restland Funeral Home. There will be a funeral service held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
