Mary Elizabeth "Libby" Sinks' Obituary
SINKS, MARY ELIZABETH “LIBBY” passed away July 9, 2013.Libby was born in Frankston, TX on June 27, 1919. Libby is survived by her brother, Larry Weesner; her daughter, Donna Lynn King and son-in-law, Dennis R. King and stepson, Baird Sinks and children; her granddaughters, Melynn Smith and Donell McMullen. By her great grandchildren, Brennan McMullen, Connor McMullen, Krewson Smith and Riley Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy N. Sinks in 2005. After graduating from Frankston High School, she moved to Dallas. Several years later she met and married her first husband, Harold W. Palmer. Harold joined the Navy in 1941 and served in WWII. While over seas, Libby moved to California. She fell in love with California. Upon Harold’s return from duty they moved back to Dallas. In 1946, Donna Lynn was born. When Harold and Libby divorced in 1948, Libby and daughter moved to the L.A. area. She met her second husband, Roy Sinks in 1955. They had a long courtship and married in the early 1970’s. Libbys career was in the oil industry, working for Magnolia, Mobil and Arco. She retired from Arco in 1979. In 1980 she and Roy returned to Texas, living in Plano. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved cat. God Bless you, Libby. Services are private.
