Mrs Mary Elizabeth Maxwell's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Maxwell, age 84, fell asleep in death at her home in Dallas, Texas, on July 19, 2009, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Brookfield, Missouri, on October 21, 1924 and grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. Later, she married the love of her life, Frank, on December 22, 1946 in New Orleans. After moving around the country to Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Boston, they settled back in Dallas, where they lived for the rest of their 62-year marriage. She was baptized in 1961 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and had a reputation for fierce loyalty to her husband, her family, her friends, and her God Jehovah. Mary’s laughter brought a smile to everyone who heard it, which was most anyone who spent any time around her. Caring for those around her was her great calling in life. Thus, any child she met found a new grandmother in her, and she loved showing generosity to everyone. She is survived by her husband Frank, of Dallas; her son Don and his wife Donna, of Dallas; her daughter Gloria and her husband Terry, of Winona, TX; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. “For God is not unrighteous so as to forget your work and the love you showed for his name.” (Hebrews 6:10)
