Mary Frances Waggener's Obituary
WAGGENER, MARY FRANCES Mary passed away peacefully on August 6, 2011 after a long battle with complications from diabetes and liver disease. She was born on September 18, 1933 to Oscar and Louise Ellis in Streetman, TX. She graduated from Baylor University in 1954. She married Grady B. Waggener on August 26, 1954 in Waco, TX. Mary enjoyed serving in leadership roles in First Baptist Church Richardson as President of Women on Mission, President of Roundtable and served as a greeter for visitors and members. She was an active member and past President of the Richardson Woman’s Club (RWC). Mary served two terms as the Ways and Means chairperson. Among her many activities at RWC, she delighted in coordinating the Bazaar during the Annual Tour of Homes. Mary also loved participating in various bridge groups with her friends. Mary is survived by her husband, Grady B. Waggener; two daughters, Sheri Strybos of Pflugerville, TX and Nancy Hendricks of Cypress, TX; eight grandchildren, Jonathan, Susan, Steven, Kevin and Kathleen Strybos of Pflugerville, TX; Katie and Ryan Hendricks of Cypress, TX and Aubrey Saylor of Van Alstyne; one great grandchild, Ranly of Van Alstyne, TX. Mary’s enthusiasm for life and contributions to it will be dearly missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and other relatives and friends. She leaves us with hearts full of treasured memories. Service will be held at 10:30AM, Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at First Baptist Richardson with a graveside service at 4:00PM in Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, TX. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM, Tuesday at Restland Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Richardson Woman’s Club Charitable Foundation, Inc- College Scholarship Fund.
