Maud Mae Behannon's Obituary
Behannon, Maude was born on December 25, 1915 in McKinney, Texas and passed away on September 16, 2010 in Dallas, Texas. Maudie was a gift to many for 94 years. Born in McKinney, Texas, but a resident of Dallas from the age of two, she attended Highland Park High School, North Dallas High School and SMU. During the Depression, Maudie left college to find a job and support her family. While working in the Cotton Exchange Building, she met her future husband, R.T. “B” Behannon. Throughout her life, she loved dancing, arts and crafts, playing bridge and especially her family. Often describing herself as “the luckiest woman in the world.” she never missed a party or a family function. Preceded in death by her husbad, “B” Behannon, she is survived by daughters Molly Behannon and Sally Hartman and son-in-law Judge Merrill Hartman; grandchildren Melinda Eitzen, Melissa Couture and husband Mike, and Max Hartman; great grandchildren Matthew and Maxwell Eitzen and Reed and Sam Couture; nephew Tom Crabb and wife Debbie, and niece Nancy Cox. Special thanks to Maudie’s “Angels”-Heather Evans, Jay Neathery and Randee and Mark Hefflefinger. The family is deeply grateful to the compassionate and skilled caretakers of Seasons Hospice at CC Young Retirement Community. Visitation will be held from 4-6 on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas 75243. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 24, 2010 at Northway Christian Church at 2:00pm, 7202 W. Northwest Hwy, Dallas 75225. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to East Dallas Christian Church or Northway Christian Church, Maudie’s two church homes.
