McGowan "Mack" Wright Solis' Obituary
McGowan Wright Solis, affectionately known as Mack, passed away on Friday June 7, 2024 after a tragic lake accident. He was 5 years old.
Mack was born in Fort Worth, Texas at Harris Southwest on March 14, 2019 to Virginia and Ariem Solis.
Mack was a ray of sunshine. He brought joy, laughter, and smiles to everything and everyone. He loved Monster Trucks, Super Mario, music, jumping, swinging, playing in the water, dogs, Braum’s junior chocolate shakes, going to school, his teachers, family, his Wiggle church family at University UMC in Fort Worth and church family at Cochran Chapel UMC in Dallas.
When Mack was diagnosed with Autism around 2 years old, his entire family, church, and teachers worked together to ensure that Mack had the best opportunities to learn and grow. He had the world's best dedicated team of teachers, therapists, doctors, and school professionals to guide him and us in his unique journey. In his short time he experienced so much of life: he flew in an airplane, swam in the ocean, fed giraffes at the zoo, visited the Aquarium, became a season pass attendee at the State Fair of Texas, tried rock climbing, went bowling, experienced a Monster Jam show, attended a Dallas Symphony Orchestra concert, watched movies at the Drive-In, went to Sea World, became a big brother to Mary Anne and most importantly came to know Jesus Christ as his friend in his Thursday night community of faith at Wiggle Church at University UMC.
Mack is preceded in death by great grandparents Betty and Everett Brown, Maria and Vicente Solis, Laura and Buddy Cain, Espie and Philip del Rosario.
Mack is survived by his parents, Virginia Rose (nee Cain) and Martin Ariem Ramsey Solis, sister Mary Anne Rose Solis, grandparents, James Wright Cain, Paz Virginia del Rosario Cain, Sharon Brown, Mary Lou and Martin Solis as well as many more aunts, uncles, and cousins who all will miss his bright light.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that monetary donations can be made in Mack’s memory toward the continuing ministry of Wiggle Church at University UMC in Fort Worth. Checks may be written to University UMC memo Wiggle Church-Mack Solis. 2416 W Berry St Fort Worth, Texas 76103 made online at https://www.uumcfw.com/give
