On Wednesday, January 23, 2019, Michael Roy Williams, 68, was called home to be with the Lord. He fought a good fight, but was ready when God called on him. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. He always believed that if he could help someone, then his living would not be in vain.Michael was born on May 3, 1950 in Donaldsonville, LA. He was the son of Carolyn & Jack Hawkins, and Adrian Williams.Michael is a native of Donaldsonville, LA, and resident of Garland, TX since 1997. He was a graduate of Lowery High School class of 1968, attended Southern University, and later went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1968-1972. Michael was baptized/confirmed at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church at an early age. After moving to Dallas, he was baptized and became a member of North Dallas Community Bible Fellowship.He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife, Charmaine Nicholas Williams; son, Corey Nicholas – Kenner, LA; daughters, Shuanna “Shuky” – Dallas, TX, and Shane Williams – Cologne, Germany; three granddaughters and one grandson; bonus daughter, Dominique Woodruff – Dallas, TX; Man’s Best friend, Roscoe; Love Brothers/Best Friends, Larry Moore (Gale) and John Grandberry (Bessie).Sisters and brothers: Carol Celestin (Elvincent) – St. James, LA, Monica Johnson (Larry) – Plaquemine, LA, Glynn Williams – Gonzales, LA, Glyniss Desira (Darrell) – Sorrento, LA, Gary Lee – Galvez, LA, Bruce Lee (Katarina) – Louisville, KY, Briant Lee Sr. – Donaldsonville, LA, Donice Plain (Joseph) – Baton Rouge, LA, Pastor Erma Toney, James Hawkins Jr., Christina Scott, Thelma Hawkins., and Jack Hawkins Jr.; Sisters-In-Law: Mertis Maurice, Nina Nailor (Charles), and Lacretia Nicholas; Aunts: Betty Lowery (Valery), Irene Comery, Ollie Cooper, Betty Mitchell; Goddaughter: Natalee Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and his extended Garland, TX families.Preceded in death his parents Carolyn and Jack Hawkins; grandparents, Keith Maurice (brother), Shakira and A’Kira Celestin (nieces), mother-in-law/father-in-law, Man’s Best friend, JoJo.The Funeral service for Michael will be at 11:00am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior.
