Micky J. Oehlschlaeger's Obituary
Micky Jack Oehlschlaeger, a professional Santa Claus and delivery driver who brought joy to countless lives, was born on August 26, 1953 in Dallas, Texas and passed away on October 23, 2015 from complications associated with CIDP, a little known neurological disease. Micky was preceded in death by his brother Dale Oehlschlaeger, his beloved uncle John Edwin Oehlschlaeger, Jr, his paternal grandparents John Edwin Oehlschlaeger and Ollie Estella Bailey Oehlschlaeger, his maternal grandparents Douglas Othello Pledger and Hazel Emily Yoakam Pledger, and many treasured pets including Licky, Latrine, Buck and Sugar Bear and many more. Micky is survived by his wife of 20 years, Katrina Wen Kohn of Dallas, Texas, his sons Christopher Clay Oehlschlaeger and Cody Dale Oehlschlaeger, both of Rockwall Texas, his parents Jack Bailey Oehlschlaeger and Charlotte Ann Pledger Oehlschlaeger of Denton, Texas, his brother Ben Zack Oehlschlaeger and sister-in-law Janna Ball Oehlschlaeger and their three children, Emme, John Bailey (JB) and Henry of Denton Texas, and his ex-wife Jerry Lyn White Oehlschlaeger of Rockwall, Texas. Micky was also loved and cherished by the Kohn, Drew and Cox families as well as many, many friends and fans of Micky’s Santa persona, St. Mick. Micky’s Life Celebration and Memorial will be held on Saturday November 28th, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Deep Ellum at the Quixotic World Magical Event Center, 2824 Main, Dallas, Texas 75226. http://thequixoticworld.com In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the DFW based Neuro Assistance Foundation who helped outfit Micky’s home to be handicap accessible. http:/www.neuroassistance.org
