Mildred Marie Salmon's Obituary
Mildred Marie Butler Salmon, 90, of Dallas, Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2012. She is preceded in passing by her husband of 39 years, JD Salmon of Bolivar, Texas, her sisters, Joyce Butler Peabody and Mary Katherine Butler, and her brother William “Eugene” Butler. She is the daughter of the late Eula and Dovie Lee Butler of Bolivar, Texas. Mildred is survived by her two daughters: Sherie Salmon Carroll of Yoakum, Texas, and Darta Salmon Burns of Plano, Texas; her grandchildren Misty Carroll Ruth, Trent Carroll, Crystal Carroll Rice, Ashley Burns Sloan and Whitney Burns; and her two great grandchildren Micah Ruth and Michaiah Ruth. Mildred was born in Copeville, Texas on March 17, 1922. She graduated from Sanger High School in 1939. Mildred was actively engaged in the faith community and was a charter member of Northway Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, her place of worship for 60 years. She passionately enjoyed baking, sewing, Meals on Wheels, the “42 Dominoes Club”, and spending time with her five grandchildren whom she affectionately called “tacky tackies”. She was a cervical and breast cancer survivor. Services in celebration of her life will be held at Restland Memorial Chapel. Call Restland for service information 972-238-7111. She will forever be cherished in the hearts of her friends and family for her strength of character and unyielding devotion to the Lord, her everlasting faithfulness to her husband JD, and her bright, caring personality. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
