Mr Morris Franklin James' Obituary
JAMES, MORRIS FRANKLIN, Born on April 24, 1920 in Stonewall County, TX and passed away on December 16, 2007 in Richardson, TX. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII. He also served as City Secretary of the City of Richardson 1953-1959, just as the city’s main growth started. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Annie James, sister, Lois Boston, and infant sisters Ada Lavon and Doris. He is survived by wife of 68 years, Mildred James of Richardson, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Brenda James of Dallas, TX; granddaughters, Jennifer, and husband, Brandon Toombs of Dallas, TX, and Joanna and husband, Jordan Frazer of Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, Gracie Toombs, Wyatt Toombs, and Owen Frazer. In 1959 he joined George Underwood and Lindsay Embrey in developing a large portion of the west side of Richardson, TX. He worked for Lindsay Embrey for more than 40 years in the real- estate development business. Mr. James was a member of the Richardson East Church of Christ for 46 years. He loved his family, his work and his community and until the last 6 months enjoyed going to his office once a week and still retained a very active lifestyle. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30PM Wednesday December 19, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 10AM Thursday December 20, 2007 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
