Crozier Technical High School in 1949 and attended Dallas College of SMU. He played Semi-pro baseball in Dallas for several years. He began his 60 year career in the plumbing, heating, air conditioning wholesale supply industry by driving a delivery truck and working his way up to become President of Southland Supply Company. He is remembered for his hard work, honesty, generosity, sense of humor, and love of people. He was the first recipient of the Humanitarian Award presented by the Dal-Tech Alumnae for their scholarship fund. He loved his family, golf, baseball, and his flower garden. He will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Dr. Diana P. Cunningham; daughter, Cheryl Gardner and husband, Frank; son Craig Cunningham and wife Jeanne; and grandchildren Logan, Cole, and Paige Gardner, and Christopher Cunningham. A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Restland Memorial Chapel followed by a reception to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Dal-Tech Alumni Scholarship Fund or the Dallas Arboretum.
