Muriel Young Woodson's Obituary
WOODSON, MURIEL Y. Soared on wings like eagles to join her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 7, 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Woodson, of Dallas, niece, Carol Y. Marvin, her husband, L.E. Marvin, and their daughter, Margaret Marvin, of Dallas, and their son, Michael Marvin and his wife Jennifer of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, and nephew, Vaughan George Miller, and his wife, Brandie Woerner, of Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband, (Coach) Warren B. Woodson, to whom she was joyfully married for 69 years, her, brother, George Young and sister, Hazel Miller. Born August 21, 1909, she lived her 98 years praising God. Many people have said she was their ‘role model’ for her deep religious faith, kindness, discernment and enjoyment of living which included sports of all kinds. Her family and friends will rejoice and celebrate her life on July 9, at an open visitation in the afternoon at Restland Funeral Home. Interment service at 9:30 AM, July 10, followed by a memorial service in the Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Services will be conducted by Pete Riffe, retired minister and family friend. Donations may be made in memory of Muriel Y.
