Myrtle May McDonnell's Obituary
Myrtle May McDonnell, age 101 of Dallas, Texas was born August 20, 1921, in Celeste, Texas to William Albert Horner and Nora Jane Parr Horner. She married Jack McDonnell on March 3, 1940. She graduated from Crozier Tech High School and worked at Titches department store in Dallas before becoming a homemaker.
Myrtle, many affectionately knew as Granny will be remembered by son, Lonny McDonnell, daughter, Myrna Sandefur, daughter-in-law, Mary Jo McDonnell, grandchildren, Shannon Martinez (Jose), Brenda Tatro (Todd), Jan Carley (Keith), Shawn Sandefur (Michele), Heather Adams (Bob), seven great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Jack, her mother Nora, father, William, brother, Albert, son-in-law, Mike Sandefur, and son, Tommy McDonnell.
Myrtle was a member of Scofield Memorial Church of Dallas. She enjoyed traveling the United States, overseas, and the open waters on various cruises. She also took great pride in sharing vacation time with family and friends at the historical 1800s home in Georgetown, CO that she and Jack purchased in the early 1960s.
She was a kind and loving person with an infectious smile that we will greatly miss. We are grateful for the love and support of our family and friends.
Services will be Monday, March 13, 2023, at Restland Wildwood Chapel, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas,
TX 75243. Visitation 1:00 pm, Funeral Service 2:00 pm, followed by Graveside Service.
