Nancy Lee Baxter's Obituary
BAXTER, NANCY LEE 74, of Richardson, Texas passed away on January 22,2013 after a long and courageous battle with kidney disease. Nancy was born on July 10, 1938 in Haynesville, Louisiana to Ore Eugene Hutson and Clara Oakes Hutson. She had one sister, Janelle Hutson Davis. Nancy enjoyed a wonderful childhood filled with many good friends, and she graduated from Haynesville High School as valedictorian of her class. She graduated from Baylor University in 1959 and worked as a cashier at Rauscher Pierce in Dallas for several years until her children were born. On November 9, 1963, she married Hugh Morrow Baxter. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year. They raised their two children, Betsy and Rade, in Richardson, Texas. Nancy was an avid genealogist who did extensive research on her own ancestry and Hugh’s as well. She was very proud to have traced her lineage to become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Nancy was a member of First Baptist Church of Richardson. She formed many long and lasting friendships through her involvement in her book review club and bridge club. Nancy was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Nancy is survived by her husband, Hugh Morrow Baxter of Richardson, Texas; daughter, Betsy Baxter of Richardson, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Rade Morrow Baxter II and Connie Loganbill Baxter of Allen, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Nancy was dearly loved and will be sorely missed. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, Janaury 24, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Friday, Janaury 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel. Charitable donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the American Kidney Fund.
