Nancy Ruth Siebert's Obituary
Nancy Ruth Smallwood Siebert was born May 10, 1937 in Weston, TX in Collin County and passed to the next plane on August 23, 2015 in Dallas. As the youngest, and most surprising, of the five Smallwood children she was doted on by her three sisters and one brother. She was always brave and resourceful and didn’t think twice about leaving that tiny town to join the US Navy at age 18. While stationed in Florida she met the father of her children, eventually resettling in Weston after his discharge from the service. In 1966 the family “moved to town.” After her divorce in 1972 she raised her three kids almost alone, keeping a roof over their head and food on the table through the toughest of times. She worked as an electronics technician at a number of defense firms until a difficult heart surgery disabled her at the young age of 53. The last 25 years were hard on her physically but she was buoyed by her love of family and she never lost her sunny disposition. She was preceded in death by her mother Edith Smallwood, her sisters Frances. Addie and Sue and her brother Peck. She will also now get to really meet her father John Preston who passed when she was a baby. She is survived by her daughter Dana Golden of Dallas and sons Russell Siebert and his wife De Ann of Hurst and David Siebert and his wife Beverly of Springtown. Also her grandchildren Ari and Jordan Golden of Dallas, Nicolas Siebert of Austin and Chris Siebert of Athens and by a score of nieces and nephews who all love her very much. A private family service will be scheduled for a later time. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 at Restland Road.
