Opal Bonnie Brown's Obituary
Opal Carlile Brown, 100, a loving wife, mother, grandmother (Nonnie), great and great great grandmother died Wednesday morning, December 9, 2015 at Arden Courts Memory Care Facility, Richardson, Texas. Opal was born on March 17, 1915, in Oswalt, Oklahoma, to Scott Henry and Myrtle Spiller Carlile. Graduating from Marietta High School, Marietta, Oklahoma. She married Alva Brown in Healdton, Oklahoma, on November 5, 1932. A daughter, Jayne Rhea, was born June 13, 1938, in Abner, Oklahoma. A move to Oak Cliff, Texas, came in 1941 then moving to Grand Prairie, Texas, in 1947. A second daughter, Kathy Ann, was born November 18, 1948. While living in Grand Prairie, Opal was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie and the PTA’s at her daughter’s schools. A final move was made to Richardson, Texas, in August, 1959. Opal was a dedicated founding member of Northrich Baptist Church, Richardson, Texas. While working in the retail industry with a concentration in the cosmetic and finance areas, she stayed very busy with Garden Clubs, Book Clubs, church activities and various other clubs and activities, along with raising her youngest daughter. At one time she even found time to teach Pre-School. In her later years, Opal was a talented artist. She continued with her art until arthritis made it unbearable to hold a brush. She lived a long, loving and creative life. Opal was proceeded in death by her husband Alva, her parents, a sister and a brother. She is survived by daughters Jayne Brown Crepeau and husband Bill; Kathy Brown Morris, and husband Richard; grandchildren Mike Crepeau and wife Diane; Ray Morris and wife Gina; Clay (Dobber) Morris and wife Jody; Deanne Morris Molina; Meghan Sparkman and husband John; Shelby Lynn and husband Travis; greatgrandchildren Austin and Katie Crepeau; Sara Cardinal, Ashley and Amber Linkugel, Hailey and Max Morris; great great grandchildren John Roy and Austin Cardinal, Laney Linkugel, Paxton Lynn and Liam Sparkman. And nieces and nephews. A very special thank you is extended to the loving staff of Arden Courts Memory Care Facility for loving and compassionate care they have given Opal for the last 11 years, especially her loved ones in the Boat House who made her last years fun and comfortable. She loved you. A thank you to Pathway Hospice, especially Bryan, for the wonderful care you gave her in her last days. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Restland, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Dallas at 4144 N. Central Expressway #750, Dallas, Texas 75204.
