Oralia Altamirano Baker passed away peacefully in her home in Garland, Texas, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born on June 10, 1932, in San Antonio, Texas, Oralia was the beloved daughter of Monico and Maria (Almanza) Altamirano. She attended Ianhoe Elementary, Iring Middle School, and graduated from Fox Tech High School in the Class of 1952.
Oralia dedicated many years of service as a secretary in the security office at the former Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio. On October 4, 1964, she married the love of her life, Darrel G. Baker, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in San Antonio. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
A devout Catholic, Oralia was a proud member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Mary Immaculate, since 1986. Her commitment to service and her gentle spirit touched the lives of many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monico and Maria Altamirano, and her brother, Ruben Altamirano. She is survived by her devoted husband, Darrel; her loving son, Kenneth; her sister, Gloria Hernandez; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Oralia will be remembered for her warmth, grace, and unwavering faith. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
A Rosary and Funeral mass will be held at St. Jospeh's Catholic church Wednesday 10th at 10am.
