Patsy Ann Sudden's Obituary
Patsy Ann Wheeler Sudden was born January 23, 1937, and passed into eternity September 26, 2023. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Thomas V. Wheeler and Mary Virginia Wells Wheeler, a brother, John David Wheeler and a brother, Thomas V. “Bill” Wheeler and his wife, Lola Alderson Wheeler. She is also pre-deceased by her former husband, Stanley Carl “Scott” Sudden, and brother-in-law, Henry Horton.
Patsy is survived by three sons, Jeffrey Carl Sudden and wife, Terri, Shawn Andrew Sudden and wife, Paula, and Matthew Wells Sudden. She is also survived by grandchildren, Dallas Ann Sudden, Leah Ritt, Andrea Quinn, Nicholas Sudden, Victoria Sudden, and great-grandchildren, Teagen Ritt, Kestral Ritt, Cash Quinn, Logan Sudden, Liberty Sudden, Alexander Sudden, and Maxwell Sudden.
Patsy is also survived by siblings, Sarah Welch and husband, Kenneth, Mary Linda Horton, Mike Wheeler and wife, Brenda, and Debby Bennett and husband, Wayne.
Patsy graduated from Plano High School in 1955 and 37 years later received a degree in Fine Arts from University of Texas Dallas in 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Plano, for most of her life. She served on the board of Frankford Cemetery Association from 2008 to 2018 and Frankford Preservation Foundation from 2014 to 2018.
In earlier years, Patsy was a member of Sweet Adelines singing group. In later years, she and her sister, Sarah, enjoyed many trips to Europe together enjoying ocean cruises, river cruises and land tours.
A service in celebration of Patsy’s life will be held at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Friday, October 6, 2023 at 10:00 AM, with burial following in Restland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, October 5, 2023, 5:00-7:00 PM at Wildwood Chapel.
