Patsy Gant Whigham's Obituary
Patsy Rhea Gant Whigham was born November 16, 1932 in Richardson, TX. She passed away on July 15 in Richardson from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. Patsy was the daughter of Otis and Jesse Ella Wharton Gant. She was a lifelong Richardson resident and was happiest while within its borders. She was a proud graduate of Richardson High School where she was the valedictorian of the class of 1950. She spent her career as an executive secretary, lastly for many years at Texas Instruments from where she retired. After her retirement she often worked at her favorite store, Neiman-Marcus. She married the love of her life Dr. William R. Whigham on Aug 17, 1969. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson and the Pathfinder Sunday School class. Patsy was an accomplished piano player and enlivened many gatherings with her playing. She was as proud as any parent of her toy poodles Henri, Bridget and Scarlett. She is predeceased by her parents as well as an infant sister and brother. She is survived by husband Bill, sister Doris Ann Hollowell of Dallas, nephew Steve Hollowell and wife Tammy of Dallas, niece Susan Kitzrow and husband Tom of Tucson, AZ, grand-nephew Grant Hollowell and grand-niece Kelsey Hollowell. Services are scheduled for Monday, July 19 at 9:30 AM at the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home in Richardson. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, Sunday, July 18 at Restland Funeral Home in Richardson.
