Patsy Ann Wicks' Obituary
Patsy Ann Ford Wicks passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, in Frisco, Texas, just one week shy of her 88th birthday. She was born on August 26, 1937, in Columbia, Mississippi, to the late Ernest and Queen Smith Ford. A true Southern belle, Patsy attended the University of Southern Mississippi before moving to Dallas in 1962, where she built a full and joyful life.
She worked for many years as an executive secretary with Varo and later with the Texas Workforce Commission, both in Garland, Texas. Patsy never lost her Mississippi accent and carried her warmth, wit, and gracious spirit wherever she went. She loved reading, sleuthing around on the internet, and had a gift for reviving even the most hopeless plants. She was a wonderful cook whose meals brought family and friends together, and her kindness will be remembered by all who knew her.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Jessica Gowen and Kimberly Hoff (Scott); her grandsons, Jake and Maxton Gowen; her granddaughters, Avery and Kinsley Hoff; and her sisters, Ernestine May and Pauline Sinopoli. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Wicks; her parents, Ernest and Queen Ford; her sister, Billie Frances Ford; and her brother, Russ Ford. A private celebration of life will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the World Wildlife Fund.
