Phoeba Williams' Obituary
Williams, Phoeba was born in Eldorado, Oklahoma to Taylor and Alpha Whaley on February 4, 1926. She was the youngest of 4 children and is preceded in death by all of them. Phoeba died on August 23, 2013 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She is preceded in death by Jack McGinnis, her first husband and father of their two daughters. Phoeba is survived by her husband of 24 years, Ed Williams; daughter, Diane McGinnis and husband, J.D. Sims; daughter, Sandra McGinnis; grandson, Chase Williams and a host of relatives with whom she has spent cherished times. Throughout life Phoeba has shared friendships with many who became an integral part of her life and became a part of her extended family. Phoeba accomplished many things in her life; but most important to her was to live a life that demonstrated her love and commitment to Jesus Christ. She did this daily as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who provided love, support and encouragement. Phoeba began volunteering in high school for the USO and continued this effort throughout life most recently being a part of Meals on Wheels and White Rock Center of Hope until her health would no longer permit. During this challenging time she was grateful for the love of her family and friends who demonstrated their compassion through their prayers, their visits and their cards. These brought joy and peace as her time on earth neared its end. In celebration of the life of Phoeba Williams there will be a memorial service on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 2:00pm at the Lake Highland United Methodist Church, 9015 Plano Road Dallas Texas 75238. To honor her life donations may be made to the Off Campus Ministries where Phoeba faithfully served at Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.
