THOMAS, REBECCA RUTH (TURNER) age 58, of Garland, Texas passed away peacefully on 6/13/2010 at Baylor of Garland Hospital. She was born on 03/22/1952 in Dallas, Texas to her parents, Thurman F. and Meddie Ruth. Preceded in death by her husband, David R. Thomas Jr. and her father, Thurman F. Turner. Rebecca was the oldest of 4 children. She married David in Dallas, Texas on 02/02/1973. They had 1 child. She attended South Garland High School and graduated in 1970. She was a lifelong resident of Garland, Texas for 58 years. Rebecca was a member of Urban Park Assembly of God Church in Dallas, Texas. She enjoyed making floral arrangements and writing childrens books. Rebecca will be remembered by her daughter, Tiffany Faye Thomas; her mother, Meddie Ruth Turner; and her sisters, Dianna Luker, Connie McGlinn, and Sandra Lipps. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
