Richard Eli Littrell's Obituary
Born December 10, 1917, Sayre OK. Dick attended Oklahoma A&M College at Stillwater. He had one son, Donald James Littrell, from a previous marriage. In 1942, Dick enlisted in the Army Air Corp as a Cadet Flight Trainee. He received his Wings and commission as a 2nd Lieutenant. In 1944 he completed his B-17 bomber pilot training and was assigned overseas with the U.S. 15th AirForce, based at Foggia Italy. Upon his return to Oklahoma City, he met his high school sweetheart, Jeanne Marie Atkins, who had also been serving during the war as a Red Cross Volunteer in Guam. They married in 1947, moving to Dallas where Dick was in the carpet business for a number of years and later owned a business brokerage firm. After retiring, he and Jeanne spent their leisure time playing bridge and golf. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Jeanne, son Donnie James, and two brothers, Earl Jr. and M. Ralph Littrell. Survivors include nephew Larry Hawkins and wife, Shirley, and niece Lin Hawkins, both of Dallas TX, along with numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, November 21, at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, November 22, at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
