Richard Roy Stead Sr.'s Obituary
STEAD, SR., RICHARD ROY born in October 1923 in Dallas, TX and passed away on July 23, 2014 in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Ellen C. Stead; his parents, Roy and Myrtle Stead; and his brother, Joe Pierce. He is survived by his son, Rick and wife, Terri; his daughter, Janice and her husband, Les Tanzer; grandsons, Michael Forrest and wife Erin, Brian Forrest and wife Destinee, Brandon Stead and Jared Stead; great grandchildren, Christopher and Ellen Forrest; and special friends, Curtis and Beverly Randolph. Dick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was a dedicated volunteer at First Presbyterian Church in Richardson, TX where he was a member for 58 years. He had a distinguished record serving in the Army Air Corps as a pilot during World War II. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, July 25, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church, 319 LaSalle in Richardson, TX with Rev. David Fletcher officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Carry the Load Organization.
