Richard L Wallace's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Richard Lavell Wallace of Fort Worth, Texas, on October 2, 2024. Born in Fort Worth to Mrs. Fannie B. Lee and the late Mr. Alex Mack Wallace Jr., Richard was a beloved son, father, grandfather, sibling, and friend.
In Richard’s early years, he received the love of Christ through baptism at Community Missionary Baptist Church by the late Pastor Homer Williams. He attended schools in the Fort Worth Public School District and met quite a few friends during his time. Following high school, Richard went to work at Cargil alongside his stepfather Lovell and brother Waymon. In addition, Richard would later follow his brother Waymon’s footsteps and began driving 18 wheelers. After driving the big rigs, Richard went onto working in construction as a contractor and was finally his own boss. He took great pride and joy in making people smile through his craftsmanship. One day Richard decided that it would be a good idea to paint his mother’s house Pepto-Bismol pink, as it was a corner house, it stuck out like a soar thumb. He would later change the color to what it is today. Richard is preceded in death by his father Alex Mack Wallace Jr., stepfather Lovell Lee, and sister Floyceolene Lee. Those left to cherish Richard’s memory are his mother, Fannie B. Lee of Fort Worth, TX; brother Alex (Young Suk) Wallace of Kent, WA; sisters Carolyn Russell and Debbie McGee, both of Fort Worth, TX. In addition, left to cherish his memory are his children; Dwayne Smith, Immanuel Wallace, Bilalah Moore, Tahirah Lee, Tariq Wallace, Shareefah Williams, and Jamail Wallace, as well as 13 grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
The family kindly requests your prayers and support during this difficult time. Richard’s legacy of love and compassion will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to everyone for their ongoing support, words of comfort, and gifts of love during our time of bereavement. Our family would like to give special thanks to Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, Mountain View Funeral Home in Lakewood, WA, and NorthStar Memorial Group for their unwavering love and support during this time.
