Richard Dowling Zumwalt's Obituary
ZUMWALT, RICHARD DOWLING born December 1, 1912 in Amarillo, Texas to Richard Dowling and Cora Bell (Pate) and passed away October 10, 2007. Mr. Zumwalt was president of Burrus Mills Inc. until 1964 and retired as general manager of Burrus milling department of Cargill, Inc. in 1973. He was past president of the Bulgur Association, Washington; Dallas Grain Exchange; member of Millers National Federation and Texas Manufacturers Association. Richard (Dick) was very active in the fellowship class as song leader and president, and was a charter member of University Park United Methodist Church. Mr. Zumwalt was a Master Mason, member of the John L. DeGrazier Lodge #1349. He is survived by his loving wife Florine, daughter Alexandra and husband Klaus Schwabe; granddaughter, Aloysia and husband Tim Lotze; and great grandchildren, Alex and Lauren Lotze, Nikolaus Schwabe and wife Michelle. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2007 at University Park United Methodist Church, 4024 Caruth Blvd., Dallas, TX 75225.
