Robbie Mack Tunnell's Obituary
Mack Tunnell passed away on August 28, 2019 at the age of 91. He was born on September 23, 1927 to Harvey and Lola Tunnell in Van, Texas. Mack was the last surviving sibling of a large and special family- 6 brothers and 3 sisters. He was married to Gay Tunnell for 64 years, and they had 3 children, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. His dear wife passed away in 2017.Mack was in the army during the Korean war. After that, he received a football scholarship to SMU and earned a degree in accounting. After he and Gay were married, he began his career with Sun Oil Company. They moved to Colorado City, Texas then to Richardson in 1960. Mack retired from Sun Oil Company after 35 years.Mack and Gay were avid sports fans. They enjoyed playing golf, tennis, bowling and catching all the games on TV. Mack loved fishing, hunting, cooking, playing cards, and working in the yard. But, of all things he loved his family. Those grandchildren and great-grandchildren of his were such a joy in his life.Mack was such a sweet, gentle and giving man. He was devoted to his sweet wife and their family-always putting their needs first. We will miss him greatly.A visitation will be held at 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Wildwood Chapel with the funeral service to follow.
