Robert Maxie Bruce's Obituary
Robert Maxie Bruce, husband, father, grandfather, Texas Aggie engineer and WWII Army veteran, was received to glory in his 90th year on May 12th, 2011. He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 58 years, Anabel (Soape) Bruce of Dallas. Other local family members who commemorate his life include his son, Robert Alan Bruce of Plano, daughter Kathy Ann Waterbury of Lorena, and his sister, Marjorie Holland of Dallas. Eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild will remember him lovingly. He was grateful for his experiences as a cadet graduate of Texas A&M in 1942 that preceded his immediate entry into WWII as a young officer with Patton’s 4th Armored Division. After the war, he served his church, family, classmates, and employees through the United Methodist Reporter Foundation, Aggie alumni events, charitable endowments, and as Owner/President of Applied Energy Company in Dallas. A visitation time will be held at Restland in Dallas from 6 to 8 pm on Monday, May 16th. Interment will be at Restland on Tuesday morning, May 17th at 10:00 am, immediately followed by a memorial service and reception at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church (Inwood @ NW Highway) at 11:30 am.
