I wS a thorn in Mr Stamps side in west Jr high and I know I wS but I always respected his firm but fair treatment as he tried to explain to me how my behavior will not be tolerated in adult life , I was 15 and wasn't concerned with adult life , I went in the U.S. Coast Guard in 1971 and remembered what he taught me , now at 71 I carried his words throughout life and am sorry I didn't get to tell him in person
Mr. Stamps was my high school principal and his wife was my 2nd grade teacher. I still get to see Mrs. Stamps when I visit my Mom at her church. They were such a lovely couple and it took me until my senior year in high school to figure out they were married to each other!! My deepest condolences to the family. Mrs.
Stamps, you will ALWAYS be my favorite 2nd grade teacher.

Bob and my dad, Ray Pippin, were the best of friends. When I was in high school, Bob would call me to his office, immediately, for various reasons. He called me out of Mary Garnett's senior English class one time. Mrs. Garnett was shocked that I was being called to the principal's office. I left class, visited a bit and picked up a brown envelope to take home to my dad. I returned to class only to have Mrs. Garnett scold me for being called to the principal's office. I had to tell her that Bob and my dad were hunting buddies and he'd called me to the office to give me a hunting lease contract for my dad to sign.
