Ronald Kay Purcell's Obituary
Ronald Kay Purcell was born to Kay Kent Purcell and Grace Shoemaker Purcell on September 29, 1945, in Wichita, Kansas and passed away in Denton, Texas on February 6, 2023. Ronald is survived by his son, Kenneth Ray Purcell; daughter-in- law Kristi, grandsons Jack and Joseph Purcell; sister, Shari Sue Milligan, brother-in-law (but brother in his heart) Chris Milligan, beloved nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.
Ron or “Ronnie” loved to bowl, and hunt when he was younger. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1964 in Fort Polk, Louisiana where he was first in his class for expert marksmanship. He fulfilled his service in the Army National Guard in 1970. He was a proud employee of Braniff Airlines and in his later years he enjoyed collecting Braniff memorabilia. He loved his cats, watching old movies, (especially westerns and old sci-fi). Ron’s other favorite pastime was watching the Dallas Cowboys with his beloved mother, Grace. Ron will be missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Restland Memorial Park on Friday March, 24th at 2pm.
