Rosella Belle Hutchison's Obituary
Rosella Hutchison passed away peacefully on Sunday at the age of 95.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Hutchison (Will O’Neil) of Dallas, and Scott Hutchison of Dallas; grandchildren, Michael Hutchison, Jr. (Erica) of Austin, Rosella Hutchison (Brad Hindelang) of Georgetown, and Ryan Hutchison of Austin; great-grandchildren Huskel Hutchison, Clara Hutchison, Wyatt Hutchison, Otto Hindelang, and Oliver Hindelang; and many other beloved family members.
Predeceasing Rosella was her loving husband of 70 years, O.B. Hutchison; her parents, Albert L. Trailor and Betty Trailor; brothers, Eb Huggins, Port Huggins, and Ray Trailor; sisters, Henrietta Sinclair, Loretta Parma, Louise Seeger, and Jewel Pelt.
Rosella was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on February 24, 1929. She grew up in Denver and moved to Dallas where she became a cheerleader at Adamson High School and President of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority at Arlington State College. Rosella was active throughout her life in many social and civic organizations. In Garden City, New York she was President of the Garden City Historical Society and a board member of the Long Island Jewish Hospital. In Hamilton, Bermuda she was a founding member and President of the International Association of Women’s Clubs and upon her return to Dallas she was President of the Dallas County Council of Republican Women.
Rosella and O.B. enjoyed an active life and traveled the world extensively during their time in New York, Bermuda, and after their retirement in Dallas. She and O.B. were active members of the Bent Tree Country Club for many years. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Rosella nurtured and loved her family but never let her teenage grandkids beat her at tennis into her 70s. She will be eternally loved and greatly missed by her friends and family members.
