Ruby Annelle Agnew's Obituary
Ruby Annelle (Crowell) Agnew of Garland, Texas has passed away after a brief illness. This Wednesday-Nov 9th she passed away in Plano Medical Center, Plano, Texas from a perforated colon. Mrs. Agnew was a life-long member of the First Methodist Church of Garland, Texas and a retired Garland ISD Cafeteria worker and manager of an elementary school cafeteria for 30 years until she retired in 1980. She and husband, Jack Gill (deceased) traveled extensively after both retired to Europe, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, etc… until Jack passed away in 1999. She was born to Horace Franklin Crowell and Nellie B. Uncel on March 28, 1921 in Garland, Texas. She was 95 years young when she died. Ruby Crowell married Jack Gill Agnew on the 22nd of September, 1937, in Rockwall, Texas. Their 1st child, Don Gill was born in 1938, followed by brother, Gary Jack in 1942 and sister, Judy Nell in 1946. She was preceded in death by husband, Jack; mother, Nellie Crowell; father, Horace Franklin Crowell; and sister, Edna Mae Miller; and brother, Johnnie Daniel Crowell; and granddaughter, Lynn Agnew Kirkman. She is survived by her three children, Don Gill, Gary Jack and Judy Nell. In addition, she also left to mourn her death, four grandchildren: Lisa Joyce and husband, Steve Morgan; Larry Don and wife, Shelly; Lynn Agnew- Kirkman (deceased) and Norman Kirkman,son in law; and Lyle Gill and Teri Agnew. Eight great-grandchildren: Whitney Agnew- Scruggs and husband, Casey; Cameron Agnew and wife, Macy; Cody Kirkman and wife, Ashley; Kaitlynn Kirkman-Mobley and husband, John Paul; Taylor Agnew, Madeline Simonetti, Jack Gill Agnew II and Julianna Rose Agnew. Two great-great-grandchildren: Cooper Wade Scruggs and Emmalynn Ann Mobley. Two additional great -great-grandchildren are due in March of 2017. Ruby Agnew was a Christian woman, very proud of her family, her work and accomplishments of raising her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 11:00AM followed by a funeral service on Saturday, November 12, 2016, at 12:00 PM in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243.
