Ruby Faye Sellars' Obituary
Ruby Faye Sellars, age 93, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in Mesquite, Texas. She was born to Homer Nix and Ruby Inez Terry Nix on Wednesday, May 29, 1929, in Daingerfield, Texas, the oldest of her ten siblings.
Ruby met and married Everett Sellars, also from Daingerfield. They were married on October 23, 1948 at the First Baptist Church of Daingerfield, Texas. Everett’s job took him to Dallas, Texas in 1959. The family settled in Mesquite where the couple raised their three children. They were married for 58 years, until his death in 2006.
She is survived by daughter Karen Malone and her husband Don of Dallas, Texas, son Keith Sellars and his wife Donna of Mesquite, Texas, son Kevin Sellars of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren Mona
Moreland and her husband David of Cypress, Texas, Joshua Coleman and his wife Corina of Austin, Texas, Eric Sellars and his wife Erin of Austin, Texas, and Carrie Sellars of Dallas, Texas. Great grandchildren, Michael Moreland, Amanda Moreland, Julia Coleman, Sofia Coleman, Baker Sellars, and Maxyn Sellars. Ruby was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church in Garland TX for over fifty years. During this time, she, and husband Everett were tirelessly committed to the success and well-being of the New Liberty ministry and its many outreach programs. Ruby, known as Grandmom to the grandchildren, GGMom to her great grandchildren, leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and endless stories. She will be sorely missed by her loving family, especially her extended church family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 2022 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM, Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service for Ruby will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Restland’s Wildwood Chapel, located at 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243.
