Ruth Joy Ronck's Obituary
RONCK, RUTH “JOY” (VIDRO) 88 of McKinney, Texas, passed away July 2, 2011. Born August 2, 1923, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Joy was one of five sisters and a brother who died accidently at the age of 14. Her father owned a dry goods store where she worked as a young girl. She also helped an older sister operate a dance studio for children and later danced professionally for the Grand Rapids Ballet. In 1943, she joined a troupe of USO dancers that toured Mid-Western Army bases. In November 1943, she joined the U.S. Marine Corps and took her basic training at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. Joy married her late husband, Wilfred “Wil” Ronck, a Marine Second Lieutenant from Oklahoma in 1945. He passed away in 2001. Our beloved mother, grandmother of six is survived by son’s Ronn of Washington ,D.C.; Paul of Pawhuska, OK.; Mark of Plano, TX., daughter Gay Ludwick of Dallas, TX, and Dina Terrell of Frisco, TX. Wil and Joy began raising their family in Tulsa, OK. They moved to Richardson, TX, in 1973. Joy is also survived by an older sister, Jane, and a younger sister, Gay. Tuesday July 5, at 6:30 p.m. recitation of rosary at Restland Funeral Home. Wednesday July 6 at 10 a.m. Mass at St. Paul of Apostle Catholic Church in Richardson, Texas. Interment will follow at Restland Cemetery.
