Mr. Samuel William Jennings IV's Obituary
On Monday, June 3, 2024, God called Samuel home to peace and glory as He whispered, “Take your rest.”
Samuel William Jennings IV, fondly known as “Chip” or “Sam,” was born on April 20, 1978, to the late Samuel W. Jennings III and Yvette Jennings in Chicago, IL. He was the eldest of their two children.
Chip grew up in the Southern Suburbs of Chicago, specifically Hazel Crest and Flossmoor. From a young age, he attended New Faith Baptist Church, where he embraced his faith and accepted Christ. Chip was baptized, became a devoted member, and found joy in singing with the church choir.
Chip attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School. When his family relocated to California, Chip enrolled at Folsom High School and graduated with the Class of 1996 in Folsom, CA. After graduation, Chip attended the College of the Siskiyous.
Following college, Chip pursued his passion for cars. He started his career as a Car Salesman and later took his enthusiasm for automobiles a step further by becoming an Auto Mechanic. Throughout his life, Chip held many jobs that allowed him to explore his diverse interests and passions.
Chip met and married his wife, MeChael, in April 2016.
Chip loved being around his family and friends, embracing life, and living each day to the fullest. Chip was the true definition of a “nice man,” possessing a humble and soothing spirit. His energy was always surrounded by warmth and laughter. Chip loved everyone and was a dutiful husband, father, son, brother, bonus-father, bonus-grandfather, nephew, cousin and friend. Chip’s presence will truly be missed by all who loved him
Chip leaves to cherish his memories his wife, MeChael Jennings; his children, Samuel W. Jennings V (Dallas, TX) and Jairdyn D. Jennings (Dallas, TX); his mother, Yvette Jennings (Dallas, TX); his sister, Shauntai (Richard) Harvey (Dallas, TX); his nieces, Skylar Y. Harvey and Reagan J. Harvey; his bonus children, Ronnae Lavender and Meyah Lavender; his bonus grandchild, Armani Lavender; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, loving relatives, great friends, and co-workers.
Chip was preceded in death by his father, Samuel W. Jennings III.
