Sandra Strotz Keiser
Sandra Strotz Keiser (93) of Richardson TX, died on January 9, 2021. Sandra was born on March 30, 1927 to Sidney and Frances Strotz in Chicago IL, and raised in Lake Forest IL and Pittsburgh PA. She attended high school at Rosemary Hall in Greenwich CT, graduated from Connecticut College in New London CT in 1952, and attended Simmons College of Social Work in Boston. She married John E. Keiser of Pittsburgh PA on March 13, 1954. They lived in Beaver PA, where John was employed at IBM, and moved to Richardson TX in 1964. Sandra was a homemaker and later on worked at Rohm & Haas, Dallas; After retirement, Sandra was active in the Richardson Adult Literacy Center, Richardson Women’s Club, and the First Presbyterian Church choir. She was recognized as a Richardson Real Hero in 2011 in honor of her years of service to the Literacy Center. Her joy in life came from helping others, singing, her dogs, painting, following RHS, Aggie and her grandchildren’s sports.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children Karen Williams and husband Clay of St. Paul MN, Susan Barron and husband Wes of Carrollton TX, and John S. Keiser and wife Angela of Richardson TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Rebecca Barron, Andrea Barron, Evan J. Keiser, Nikki Hebert and Brooke Billups; her step-sister Nancy Graves, step-brother John Graves, nieces and nephews. She has 2 great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, John, and her sister Shirley Mullen and brother Don Strotz.
Special thanks to her caring team at Vitas Hospice, and caregiver Jane Muigai and cognitive therapist Kennette Day.
A private memorial service will be held at Restland Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Richardson Adult Literacy Center, Richardson Network of Community Ministries, First Presbyterian Church of Richardson, or Richardson Symphony Orchestra.
