Greg always told me that no matter what happened in life, we would always find our way back to each other. Kindred souls…..I hope he was right. I talk to him each day and cry for him in my sleep but I'll never be able to replace the comfort of his touch or the brightness of his smile. He would always wrestle everyone but never really hurt them. He was very active and loved his video games. He also had a lot of Captain in him… LOL! He was definitely the bestest everything I could ever find and I love him now and forever more.

My son's Rhys and Rhyan were childhood friends of Greg and I watched them grow up to be the great you men they are. My heart broke when I heard of the loss. My families prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

there are so many memories. but i remember the very first time i met owens.. i was coming back from block leave after my first deployment and the night i arrived in the barracks from the airport i was looking for someone to hang out with. all my deployment buddies were gone. I heard noise and music in a barracks room so i knocked on the door. there were two guys i had never met brand new soldiers in the army who were on rear detachment waiting for us to come back from afghanistan.. Owens and Gison.. I am a huge character judging type of person. I judge people right off the bat and I felt good hanging with them. I knew they were underage and I knew that they would be impressed by my war stories and my be all you can be attitude. I wanted to make a good impression so that they wouldn't think deployment wasn't so bad. Anyway. another soldier ends up coming into the room and owens and gilson were eager to show off their manhood. so, they wrestled for about 45 minutes with the soldier who walked in. I was the first guy that took them under my wing when they were still wet behind the ears. He had such a great attitude and I dont think I ever saw him angry. I was actually nervous that he was going to pass me up in promotions because it took him half the time it took me to make SGT. He and his family will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I also got a tattoo to help me cope with the loss. I cry sometimes (actuall I cry alot) to think that yall lost a son, brother family member and that we lost a Great Leader and overwhelmingly great friend but I know that he is in heaven and if he is there, than that means that heaven is where the Lord want him. Gregory was a very spirited inividual that I met in the fall of 2002 in the Army ROTC Program at PV. We shared a love for music and action movies, and I am deeply saddened by his passing…I am unable to attend his funeral service, but I will play a tribute for him on my radio show. To the family, my deepest condolences during this painful time. However, in the mist of your tears, find solace in knowing that for lovers of and believers in Christ our Lord and Savior, this is far from where his story ends….

Gregory's Eagle Scout ceremony was the first my boys went to, now they are both Eagle Scouts. Gregory loved band, my boys both got their 4 year letter jackets for band at South. Gregory and Greg Sr. helped my husband put up the metal storage building in my back yard. Your 3 sons and my 2 sons are so much alike. Gregory has purchased their freedom. Thank you that I can say I have touched an American hero.

One of my favorite memories of Greg was seeing him and my brothers, Rhys and Rhyan, wrestling outside of Hillcrest. it was the funniest thing to see Greg try to pin Rhyan and Rhys wait to deliver the count… Our hearts and prayers are with your family Greg.
