Sharon Dickerson's Obituary
Sharon Jean Liebel, age 76, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away on August 14, 2025, at Mansfield Methodist in Mansfield, Texas.
She was born in Dallas, Texas, to Charles Julius Liebel Jr. and Rosa Lee Liebel.
Sharon married Michael K. Dickerson and together they shared 30 years of marriage. She was later widowed and, in her last years, enjoyed the companionship of Tom Carrington for 16 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina Humphreys and her husband David Humphreys, and Misty Payne and her husband Jeff Payne; her sisters, Linda Maxson and her husband Phillip Maxson, Gina Preston and her husband Rick Preston, and Debbie Puryear.
Her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana, include Jessica Brinkman and her husband James Brinkman, John Bryd, Dylan Humphreys and his wife Hannah Humphreys, Becca Holce, Victoria Payne, Cas Holce, Wilfred Holce, Autumn Payne and Alexandra Humphreys. Her great-grandchildren, who called her Grammy, are Jackson Brinkman, Jase Brinkman, and Zoey Humphreys.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John Liebel and Rick Liebel; and her sisters, Sandy Butler and Kathy Vaden.
Sharon attended Grady Spruce High School and later worked as an educator for IBM, as well as a church secretary and office manager. She was known for her dedication to children’s ministries, her gift for puppet ministry, and for being a light in the lives of everyone she met.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Connection Point (formerly North Mesquite Assembly of God), 2528 Oates Drive, Mesquite, TX, with Mike Petitt officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX.
