Sharon Kay Lane's Obituary
Lane, Sharon was born Sharon Kay Bell, the daughter of Shirley and Jerry Bell of Dallas, and big sister to brother, Mike. It was September 16, 1958 when she came into this world, and Dallas has always been her home. Sharon left us last Saturday, October 6, 2012. She was in her home in Plano, Texas a wonderful place that she’d just bought a year ago. It was a happy time in her life; a promotion at work, a recent upgrade in cars and a brand new home of her own, close to both her sons. The years prior had been challenging, she’d lost her mom (Shirley) some 10 years ago. And in the past couple years, her brother, Mike became ill and passed away. Just a little over a year ago, she buried her father, Jerry. Sharon focused her endless energy on her two sons; Cody (30) and Cory (26), anyone who knew her understood how devoted she was to her sons. They never had to wonder what to eat on Sunday, she always made an all-out Sunday dinner; enough to last into the week. She cared for their dogs, asked about their careers and love lives, and was always there if they needed to talk, or needed any help in life. They’ve grown into strong, caring, loyal men, in large part, from her dedicated and loving commitment to them. Sharon had some great jobs in her career; recently, she started assisting Cody in his newest venture, an automotive specialty shop in Garland. She was an Office Manager at American Express in financial consulting. Some may remember her early career where she was a dental assistant for so many years; she always had floss near at hand. There is great sadness in knowing that she left this world last Saturday, just as many of the dreams she’d dreamed were being realized. It’s a bittersweet consolation to know that she’s with the parents, brother and grandmother that she’d missed so deeply; reunited now forever. We will all miss her so much she was a true friend, a caring sister, an enthusiastic co-worker, and the very model of a loving mom. Rest in peace, our dear Sharon. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at 12:30PM at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
