Shelley Eileen (O’Neal) Gilmore, 63, passed away January 8, 2024 in Dallas, Texas. She came into the world on March 28, 1960 in Dallas and was soon after adopted by Ruth Louise (Jones) O’Neal and Steve T. O’Neal. Her parents preceded her in death, with her mother, Ruth, passing away on December 25, 2023 at the age of 100. Shelley graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1978. Opting to bypass college in favor of a two-month journey through Europe with 25 of her fellow graduates, she cited Switzerland as her favorite experience. The following year, she met Eric Gilmore to whom she was married for over 44 years. She worked for Liberty Mutual for 21 years. Shelley is survived by her husband, Eric Gilmore; daughter, Shannon Gilmore; granddaughters, Ava Pearl Harris and Catie Marie Harris; and several distant cousins. She is remembered fondly by co-workers and family for her kind heart, coupled with a sweet bite of quick wit and sarcasm. She unabashedly shared her joy of humor through her love of zany slapstick comedy, scary movies, and spooky themes during Halloween, her favorite holiday.
