Shirley was not only my mother-in-law, but she was my friend. We had wonderful times with The Red Hats society as " The Latin Divas". She was extremely proud of her mexican roots and heritage… Thank you Shirley for raising such an amaizing son that became my amaizing husband… I will never forget you…

Dear Mark, I had the gift to meet your Mother a long time ago. She welcomed my daughter and I as part of her family just as she did with my dearest sister Wilma. I thanked God to give me the opportunity to walk by her side for a few precious moments. I hope you feel surrounded by much love with all your family there. Andrea send healing prayers and comforting hugs. Carlos, remember your mother and wishing you and Marvin comfort. Carlos, Sandra y Andrea.
This page is not space enough to express my experiences with all of the Bowers family….lived next door for many years, shared family 'situations', played Spinners with them for many, many Sat. evenings with Jones and Ingrams.. We went on cruises with them. Many have already gone on before us and I think that she, Ralph, Joe, Chris, and Dub are setting up a table of Spinners already,, just waiting for her Marvin, Imy, and me. Love to Mark, Beth, and all of the family. My sincerest sorrow, and my tears that are shed as I type this message. With love, Fran Ewing

I first met Shirley when I became engaged to Marcus Bowers, her brother in law. She had us over for dinner one evening and I was amazed at how effortlessly she managed dinner, a child, an immaculate house etc. To a nineteen year old college student she was the most accomplished woman I knew. With a quick phone call to Marvin to pick up 3 carnations and some candles for a centerpiece she produced an elegant dinner table. I was convinced I had a lot to live up to! Each time we visited she had a new craft or hobby from needlework to scrapbooks. It was always a joy to hear about her new enthusiasms. She brought a lot of joy to those of us fortunate enough to know her. Sandra Bowers
