Shirley Gayle Nickens' Obituary
NICKENS, SHIRLEY GAYLE, Our wife, mother and sister, Shirley Gayle Nickens, left this earthly life on the morning of June 21, 2013 for a far better one in Heaven. Shirley was born on August 28, 1934 to Delmer Vernon Tucker, Sr. and Myrtle Spears Tucker in Greenbrier, AR. She married Johnnie R. Clay on April 19, 1951. Four children were born into this family. She is survived by Minor H. Nickens, whom she married on October 13, 1979 in Conway, AR; also her children, Lynnette (Paul) Cates, Richard Clay, Robert Clay and Randy (Kathy) Clay; 9 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, and brother, Johnny A. (Regina) Tucker. She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, and her brother, Delmer Vernon Tucker, Jr. Shirley was a member of the Lord’s body at the Campbell Road Church of Christ in Garland. A viewing will be held on June 24, 2013 at 12:00 PM followed by services at 1:00 PM at Campbell Road Church of Christ. Burial will be in Conway, AR with a graveside service at that location. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to your church or favorite charity in Shirley’s name.
