Spc. Timothy John Hanley's Obituary
born June 13, 1983 in Houston, TX and died September 25, 2007 at Fort Campbell, KY. Hanley grew up in Bartlesville OK, and Allen, TX and then joined the Army in 2005. He served in Iraq with honors and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a proud American who believed strongly in his duty, country and in serving in Iraq. Survivors include his wife, Markel Stoddard Hanley, his son, Timothy John Hanley, Jr.; his mother Terry Tennison, stepfather, Ed Manning, father, John Thomas Hanley and stepmother, Freda Hanley; father-in-law, Mark Stoddard and mother-in-law, Debra Stoddard-Jones; brother, Ryan Edward Hanley and wife, Elizabeth; sister, Christine Elizabeth Hanley; stepsister Kathleen Guy and husband Charlie and stepsister Margeaux Hollenbeck; grandparents, Angela and Perry Tennison; uncles David and Dan, Clay and aunt Linda Tennison and numerous other family members. Hanley is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arlene and Archie Hanley of Bartlesville, OK. Memorial service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, October 1, 2007 at First United Methodist Church, 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX. A true American hero, Timothy, age 24, answered the good Lord’s calling on Tuesday September 25, 2007 in Oak Grove, KY. He was born June 13, 1983 in Houston, TX to John Thomas Hanley and Terry Ann Tennison-Manning. He graduated from Serenity High School in 2002. Timothy married Markel Ann Stoddard in Dallas, TX on July 14, 2004. Shortly thereafter Timothy proudly joined the U.S. Army as a patriotic man and a soon-to-be father. He served time in Operation Iraqi Freedom where he distinguished himself by bravely fighting for our Freedoms and earning the honorable Purple Heart. Hanley was stationed at Fort Campbell, KY with B.Co/I-5020 as an infrantryman. He left to cherish his memory his family, as follows: loving and supporting wife, Markel Ann Stoddard Hanley, a beautiful and intelligent son named Timothy John Hanley Jr., his mother Terry Tennison-Manning and stepfather, Ed Manning, his father John Thomas Hanley and stepmother, Freda Hanley; mother-in-law Debra Stoddard-Jones and father-in-law Mark Stoddard; brother Ryan Edward Hanley and wife, Elizabeth; sister Christine Elizabeth Hanley; stepsister Kathleen Guy and husband Charlie; stepsister Margeaux Hollebeck; grandparents Angela and Perry Tennison; and a host of other relatives. He was a true, kind and caring friend to everyone. Tim loved anything on wheels! He was a real mans man and a true Texan at heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation services will be held on Thursday from 12 to 8PM at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Full Honor Military Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 10AM at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX. After services are completed, the remains are to be cremated and placed at Restland the following day. The family requests prayers for Peace and Support for all of America’s troops and their families.
