Stan was a dear friend. He started playing with our band Racing Gravity about two years ago. He also laid some bass tracks for a CD project that I just finished a few months ago. He was a wonderful musician and friend. He also played for our church for a few months. I will miss him dearly. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I remember when my husband told me with great excitement….I get to play music with Stan Harris, an AMAZING BASSIST! My husband who has a great love for music was so excited for the ministry opportunity to do life and music with Stan. In his words….Heaven is now enjoying one of the best bass players! To say that Stan Harris was a great bassist is not exaggeration, at all. He played in the Cream Tribute Band, ?Wheels of Fire?. They had looked for a bassist for many years until they heard Stan play. He played bass in the ?Voodoo Kings? band with the incredible Mouse Mayes and played many times at Firewater in Dallas. He traveled with Janie Frickie and, in his younger years, toured internationally with Clarence ?Gatemouth? Brown. He played in the worship band at ?Heartland Church? and Dan Dean when it was in Irving, TX. He played in the I-55 Worship Band when it was first started in Carrollton and Farmers Branch. Many people were blessed by his music and his contributions to the music of many ministries. I would like to request that if you have positive memories of Stan to enter them in the wall at the Restland website, so that his children and family can read them.

Stan was a great friend. He never had a harsh word to say about anyone and would always lend a hand when needed. Stan and I played in three or four bands together in the 90's. He was not only a great bassist but a great singer as well. We lost track of each other for nearly two decades until he found my website over a year ago. Since then we spoke many times about playing together again. I regret we never got the chance. He was always uplifting and revived my spirit. I'll miss him. Rick Atha

I met Stan in 2005. Over the years we worked together on several projects which ran the gamut from heavy metal, latin rock, and blues. He could play anything! Stan was a gifted anointed musician, who took the music to a whole other level. Stan had worked with blues legend Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown and Edgar and Johnny Winter. After spending several years on the road playing secular music Stan eventually gave his life to the Lord. Stan used to tell everyone, "he was a walking miracle". Over the years as I got to know him, I began to understand what he meant. He was a good friend who always encouraged me. I will miss you my friend, but you will always be part of my life. We did a lot of work together for the Lord, and as the pastor in Carthage, Texas told us, east Texas will never be the same because of us. Thank you Lord, for sharing Stan's life with us.

It was an honor and pleasure to know Stan for the brief time I did, and even more so to get to play and worship alongside of him. Stan loved the Lord and loved to use his gifts as a musician to exalt the name of Jesus Christ. He will be missed on this earth, but I know he's happy and healthy now in Heaven. For the past 60 years, of the more than two dozen cousins on my mother's side, I was the closest to Stan. We'd see each other at my house, his house, our Aunt Daisy's house, and our grandparents' house. I remember when he tried to get me to not have to sleep with my teddy bear when we were at the grandparents' in Alabama. We once built a little casino out of cardboard in the garage at my parents'. I often got to wear his hand-me-downs. Sean and Rachel, I may have a photo or two you don't have, and maybe a video, so I will look for those if you like. Becky has my email address. I've also got a story or two I can tell, and maybe you can tell me a few things too. He will be missed.
