Steven Monroe Fleming's Obituary
(December 10, 1956 - March 16, 2022)
Steven Monroe Fleming joined his Lord and Savior on March 16, 2022 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Steve grew up in Richardson attending J.J. Pearce High School and met the love of his life, Cathy Ellis Fleming at the University of North Texas. They settled in Garland, and he entered the produce business like his father before him. Steve spent the majority of his produce career at J.C. Combs before retiring to his farm. He enjoyed gardening, iced tea and spending time with his family.
Steve leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Cathy; daughter, Audrey Fleming Smallwood; son, Andrew Fleming; son-in-law, Kevin Smallwood and four precious grandchildren: Carter Fleming, Jake Smallwood, Lily Fleming and Emma Smallwood. Steve is also survived by his sister, Sandy Dulaney; brother-in-law, Bruce Dulaney; brother-in-law, Mike Ellis; and beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His dogs, Rosie and Pawz, will miss being petted and fed food scraps all day long.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Mona Rae Fleming. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Play For Rex campaign online at www.p4xfoundation.com/donate or by check at: Play 4 Rex Foundation; PO BOX 1661; Abilene, TX 79604
