Dear Family of Sue, Sue was an incredibly loving person and competent professional who helped me and hundreds of others across this great country in her position with Learning Forward. My heart goes out to you in the loss of this lovely woman. May sweet memories comfort you and may your faith sustain you.
I LOVED Sue! She was such a fabulous friend and wonderful mentor. I cannot even begin to tell you all the stories that keep coming back as I think about her. One I will never forget – a child of mine was misbehaving on Halloween and was sent to Sue's office. I was asked to join them to discuss this behavior, with his mother. There Sue sat, in her "principal's chair", with black cat ears pointing so high on her head and looking so real, with those black 3-dimensional whiskers moving as she spoke – "we seem to be having a bit of trouble here". I was secretly laughing inside as Sue tried to tackle this serious problem in that not-so-serious festive garb. That was Sue, enjoying every minute of life. We will all miss her so much!
Sue was a force of nature. I knew her from her work with Learning Forward. She managed, curated, and cared for a group of consultants who all considered her a friend, mentor, and "Mom". My most enduring appreciations of Sue is her gumption—she spoke truth to power. It didn't matter who was in power–she spoke her mind especially if it had to do with learning, professional learning, students, or education. She will be sorely missed. We send our deepest condolences to her family. I hope you gain a bit of comfort knowing how loved and appreciated she was by so many people including both of us. Pat Roy and Parker McMullen
Sue loved life and shared her thoughtfulness & energy with all who came near her. Her determination, her wit and her caring will always bring smiles to those who knew her.
What a great lady she was! Feisty, funny, warm, and caring…and smart, so smart. I'm so grateful that I had the chance to know and work with her. My prayers for all of her friends and family.
My prayers to the family as Mrs.Francis was one of the great educators of my life.
Sue was feisty, an educator's educator, loyal, steady. I always knew she had my back, would listen, and give me an honest answer. She made sure that as Learning Forward Consultants we were a team, we knew each other, we learned with each other, we did good work on behalf of Learning Forward. She was the mothership that kept me connected to Learning Forward. I will miss her greatly. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. Terry Morganti-Fisher –
Sue gave generously of herself — her time and expertise, her love. I feel blessed to have known her through NSDC/Learning Forward. She has left this world a better place. With love to her family. . . .Lois Easton
When I think of Sue, I think of her infectious laugh, her lovely smile and the way she expressed love and care for all of her Learning Forward family. I will always remember her for her sense of humour and her caring and her love. She never forgot a birthday or special event in her friends' lives.
