Susan Waite Woodward's Obituary
Susan Waite Woodward was born, July 21, 1949, in Dallas, Texas and graduated Kimball High School, Dallas in1967. She received a degree in nursing from Dallas Baptist College. Susan was married to her beloved husband, Alson C. Woodward, for 42 years. She had 3 sons, Shawn Woodward, wife Cyndi, & grandchildren Kenzie & Pippa; Steven, wife April, & grandchildren; Grace, Caleb, Jonathan, Amarissa, Seth; Scott Woodward, wife Jenni, & grandchildren Clara, Caroline, Catharine. She was a grandmother of the first order whose 10 grandchildren, Mimi’s angels, were the love of her life and were ever present in their home. Susan was a believer in Jesus Christ and a lifetime member of First Baptist Church, Dallas where her multifaceted service to her Lord included: youth ministry and Chapel Choir sponsor, leader of puppet ministry, youth camp nurse, extensive travel on youth mission trips, and a long standing member of the adult Sanctuary Choir. Another highlight of her church involvement was designer and costume production coordinator for FBC. She is survived by her parents, Jerry and Kathy Waite of Dallas; sister, Carol Coleman & husband Calvin; brother, David Waite & wife Kelsa; and 12 nieces and nephews. To continue her passion for her support of student ministries, family and friends may honor Susan with a donation payable to “The Susan Woodward Memorial Fund” benefiting Student and Chapel Choir Ministries in care of FBC, Dallas. Family will be receiving friends at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas TX on Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 5 to 8:00 PM. Service will be held at 3 PM on Friday, July 15, 2011 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Dallas with parking available in the Ross and Spurgeon-Harris parking garages. Overflow parking is available in The Plaza Garage, 1200 Ross with shuttles provided to FBC.
